I am Vice President of Composite Local 601 in Sault Ste. Marie as well as an active member of ERC, all the while fulfilling my role as a Unit Steward at any opportunity. I was recently very active in our campaign to educate and create awareness through the Commission Hearings on Public Service and Tax Fairness. I also met with our local Member of Parliament on behalf of our members who work for the Ontario Disability Support Program, as well as the clients we serve, to discuss the impacts of the proposed budget.
I am currently a Caseworker for the Ontario Disability Support Program with the Ministry of Community and Social Services, dedicated to servicing clients with disabilities both through income and employment supports. Before working in the OPS I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working with First Nation governments both in Ontario and in the Yukon.
I have proven through my years of experience with the Union and throughout my career my ability and dedication to defending and fighting for the rights of all people and it is my wish to be a part of the commitment to finding solutions that will remove barriers to ensure equity and inclusiveness for our OPSEU members, to create education and awareness throughout the province on Human Rights issues, and to collaborate with our other Equity groups as we work towards breaking down the stereotypes and injustices experienced by our members.
